ABC Podcast Episode #128, plus skullkicking

This episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is brought to you by Skullkickers #6, in stores now from Image Comics, and if I knew how to make animated gifs, I would make one that just flashed SKULLKICKERS #6 IN STORES NOW and had muppets. Our good friend Chris Sims (author of the first story in the aforementioned Skullkickers #6) sits in for Evie, who just presented a paper on Gene Simmons at a music academia conference in LA, and I am told it went "good." This episode is a true celebration of comics, which includes men of iron, fists of iron, girls of power, men of power, jims of gordon, roller disco, and a whole lot of mourning, including some of our own for the passing of beloved creator Dwayne McDuffie.

We promise about 92% of it goes to cats like these:

Actually, it has gone to exactly those two cats. This one ....

...hasn't gotten squat - although he deserves to be left out, because as this mouth-area smudge proves, he clearly licked my camera lens when I went to go get some water.

Covers and stuff later, but here's this which I knew was my panel of the week the second I saw it.

ABC Podcast Episode #127, plus waffles

This "top 9!" episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is brought to you by our good friend and special guest David Wolkin, and his delicious seasonal recipes. Big wins this week for blue covers, Johnny Red, a pinkish surfer, red and green hulks, a grey ghost and a yellow-bellied superman analogue. Booster Gold however...well, it did technically "win" something. Plus we stand up for the motor city, chat about Chat, try to process S.H.I.E.L.D. and remember briefly that Force Works existed, although we will all have forgotten again by next week.

(Pictures and stuff to come later, as has been usual the last few episodes.)

Update: iTunes seems to have changed their show URLs, so I just fixed the link above to leave reviews. Also, our Feedburner feed does not seem to be updating, so for now download the show from here. Grr. --E

Updated Update: Libsyn has fixed whatever had been broken, and now everything's working as it should! EVERYTHING EXCEPT MEN STILL CAN'T STOP TO ASK FOR DIRECTIONS WHAT IS UP WITH THAT AM I RIGHT LADIES?!?! -- a

ABC Podcast Episode #125, plus visual aids

This episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is brought to you by Evie's back! Seriously, her back donated a year's worth of hosting fees, and while we're not quite sure where it got the money, we're thankful for the gesture. We recorded this show instead of watching the Super Bowl, because we don't really care about either team, and would rather it have been a matchup of the two generic teams on the Best Buy circulars telling you to get a new tv for the copyright-free "Big Game" (we've got $100 on the team with the all blue helmets, vs the team with the all red helmets.) Meanwhile in comics land, wins for Incorruptible, Spider-Girl, Secret Six, Jimmy Olsen, a cleavage-less issue of Gotham City Sirens, and a much-needed breather issue of Sweet Tooth. Plus a rare OGN win by Sarah Oleksyk's Ivy leads Aaron to reminisce about working at a copy shop in the mid 90's.

ABC has an Android App!!!!!!!!!

YOU. GUYS. So a few weeks ago, awesome listener Aaron O'Brien emailed us to say that like, you know, he'd like gone and developed an Awesomed By Comics Android app, no big whoop. Well, it's all updated and ready, and it is DOPETOWN. You can listen to every show, read every blog post with visuals, follow our Twitter feeds, and more. Plus it's totally free!

Go here to learn more about it, and if you go to that link on an Android phone, you can download it directly.

Or, if you are on your computer and have your phone, use the barcode scanner on the QR code below:
Seriously, this is one of the raddest unsolicited listener gifts ever (our solicited gifts are obviously also super rad), and if you have an Android you should download it immediately.
