Awesomed By Comics Podcast Episode #149

This episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is brought to you by the hurricane that we pretty much slept right through, and which did not give us an opportunity to bond while "hunkering down" but which was also far less destructive than it could have been which in the long run is a better thing for everyone. Winny wins this week for Mystery Men, Gotham City Sirens, Space Wolverines, Punishers, Captains America and Buckies and Confusingly-numbered Iron Man minis. We bid a fond farewell to this confusing iteration of Wonder Woman, and lament that the last-ever appearance of Oracle was as a side character in a hack-ass book. Plus Dr Who, Zelda, Vs. System, Pokemon Board Games, Iron Man Armored Adventures, The Origin of Stan, AND MANY MORE!

The 150th is nigh! Be aware of street preachers and disco remixes!

Download/subscribe to the show here or in the right sidebar, and leave an iTunes review! Tell us what you think in the comments, and please always remember that you are more than welcome to list your own winners for our categories in the comments. Hell, you can list your own categories for our winners, for all we care. Or list your own winners for your own categories, from your own books. Whatever you want to do. And if you feel like donating, there's a button over there with which you can do just that! (Or save your money to buy my record when it comes out, which I also fully support.)

Covers and stuff later, probably!

@Aaron - I was listening to some episodes from late last year and you wanted to know of some DS games to play. I know you have a 3DS, but have you played all three of the DS Castlevanias? They're pretty good. Also, there's a VS System Marvel game called 'Marvel Trading Card Game'. It has a pretty old card set, but it's pretty fun.

I forget. Did I ask you to do a couple more ABCP episodes? If not, it's coming down to the wire, an there's still bout 20 left. Maybe a few in the hundreds? Anywhere from 90 to 108 would be appreciated.

The evil Reeds are trying to open a portal to take back their headquarters (the fight is on Earth-616), destroying the Earth will be a side-effect. One of the two Reeds that Reed is looking at is the last surviving founder of the council of Reeds, who has an Infinity Gauntlet, the other is the Reed who was brain-probed by the Celestials and thus lost his intelligence, he also doesn't have any super-powers. He could be responding to either of them, not sure which.

@Ziah - Ok, I'll start counting down from 107 and if you get some more help, just have them start at 90 and count up.

Red Right Hand is a pretty great Nick Cave song.

I loved the Hitler fake-out on Doctor Who -- from the title I was afraid it was going to be one of those morose "history is inevitable" things, but I thought this episode was the most fun the show's been since last season.

I'm so tickled that you read my horse quotes. I'm glad that you thought they were funny; I was listening to the podcast at work when I got the idea and embarrassed myself by laughing out loud at my own joke.

Horse quotes ARE pretty amazing. The guy who invented them is pretty much a stud with sweet abs and the awesomed haircut ever.

So, we get another week to finish compiling our tally of every episode. Fortune has smiled upon the listeners.

Darn. I had created a macaroni art mural to commemorate the 150th episode and now I find out that Aaron uses his left hand? Even with an extra week, I'll never get this thing corrected in time.

Sorry, Evie and Aaron.

I would check out Spider-Island Avengers # 1. It has Hawkeye complaining about having Spider-powers a maniac baby and Frogman. Hilarious by Yost and McKone! Reminds me of Avengers Academy.
