ABC Podcast #91 and Visual Aids

In honor of Free Comic Book Day, this episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is absolutely free! We discuss the predictable death of a certain X-Man, Marvel's Iron Man copout, another faithful Jim Henson adaptation, and the joys of owls, funny ghosts and puppies. Aaron is impressed by complex storytelling set in war-torn sub-saharan Africa, and Evie loves owls, funny ghosts and puppies. Also we talk to some kids about comics we don't read and know nothing about, then we talk to an adult about comics we don't read and know nothing about - but now own.. Also also, Aaron's on Twitter!

Download/subscribe to the show here or in the right sidebar, and leave an iTunes review! Tell us what you think in the comments, or visit our show forum.

Numbers, Arabic numerals. Arabic numerals: 1984, Roman numerals: MCLXXXIVM, you can see why we switched. English and other western European languages are written in the Latin alphabet.

If I got you guys to read Pluto, then I am a happy, happy man. Then again, I don't think you can walk into Bergen Street Comics without getting that recommendation.

Ha ha, seriously--and when we checked out, Tucker gave us total shit for not having read it yet. So thank you for correcting that!

(Actually, still haven't read it, but plan to this week)

@Evie, have you ever heard one of the comicracks' podcast interviews with Jamie Smart (ubu bubu), he TOTALLY doesn't sound like what i thought he would! And his seriousness is very professional, in a contrary way to his comics!

Pingu is up there with Sesame Street in terms of kids shows in Ireland, so don't worry you're not allow in the pingu lovin'.

Yep, Pingu is all over TV in the Wild Wild Europes - it's certainly well known in the UK.

Pingu was a staple on the public broadcasters in Canada when I was a kid, so he's much-loved up here...

Haven't read Ubu yet, but Jamie Smart's Bear is amazing, so much funny crammed into every page!

i read in an interview that jock's name comes from him being scottish. its slang that has nothing to do with his sports abilities.

Hey guys. Just a head's up: Red Herring #6 *did* ship quite some time ago, so you should give somebody the business about that not appearing for you.
