Awesomed By Comics Episode #171 - DIE HARDERER

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is not to be confused with Episode #170, which was fully recorded and edited (on Oscar Night no less), but then infected with a technovirus and now lives in its own pocket universe where you can hear it if you listen extremely closely during the 187th minute of R.E.M. (the sleep, not the band). We're actually at a place where we're giving awards to the current week's comics, although it may or may not be the same current week when this is actually released, you'll never know. Thanks for hangin in, partners.

Oh oh also, enter our "contest" for a whole mess of free(ish) comics, some of which may be very valuable indeed!

Just part-way through the comic giveaway, and I really hope that Aaron's wireless mic isn't as big a disaster throughout the show.

Uh, wow. Sorry to say this, but did Aaron not edit this one? I can't imagine that he'd knowingly let the cover of the week segment stay in except as a joke.

Um...does it do that the whole show?

I can now report that as of comic-related non-comic item of the week it never again gets as bad as Aaron's cover of the week statement, its periodically pretty quiet and scratchy though, and there are a lot of pauses (I guess the absence of the infamous silence deleter.

And then I jinxed you and immediately got that bad, except for Evie's mic, sorry about that.

Well hell. Aaron also said he forgot to run the silence deleter. I guess we're out if practice. Sorry guys!

Are the "dudes in suits" the Time Variance Authority? If so, they at least have some pedigree, from Simonson's run on FF. Don't know what they're like now, but back then they looked like Mark Gruenwald.

I just wanted to echo Ethan's comments. The most noticeable thing for me was what I guess is the absence of the silence deleter.

What also seemed to happen a lot is that Aaron would start out a sentence sounding fine, but as he kept talking, his voice would gradually fade to inaudibility.

Noticeable around the portion of the show that was about Pokemon stuff.

Yeah I'm reading Walt Simonson's FF and the Time Variance Authority is depicted as a dull office that stretches towards infinity.
